Regional VRDL

Regional VRDL at AIIMS Bilaspur was established under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, to strengthen viral diagnostic infrastructure and epidemic preparedness. AIIMS Bilaspur is the 11th Regional VRDL in the country, progressing towards establishing a standalone BSL-3 facility.

Objectives

Timely identification of viruses and epidemic-causing agents.
Detection of novel and emerging viral strains.
Training of healthcare professionals.
Research on emerging infectious agents.
Improvement of diagnostic quality systems.
